FAQs
FAQs specific to Carpet Cleaning.
How long does carpet take to dry in Lake Worth humidity?
Our truck-mounted system extracts most of the water, so carpet is usually walkable in a few hours and fully dry in about one day. In Palm Beach County the year-round humidity slows evaporation, so run ceiling fans and your AC on a normal setting to pull moisture out of the air. If the weather is dry, cracking a few windows helps too. Cranking the heat without ventilation traps moisture and makes drying take longer.
Can you remove pet odor and pet stains from carpet?
Yes. Pet-heavy households are common across Lake Worth, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach, and pet accidents that soak into the pad are the top cause of lingering odor. Our hot steam extraction flushes urine salts and dander out of the fibers rather than masking them. Point out any known accident spots before we start so we can pre-treat them. Deep stains that reached the pad or subfloor may need repeat treatment.
How often should I deep-clean carpets in South Florida?
For most homes here, once or twice a year keeps carpet healthy. South Florida humidity lets mildew and dust mites take hold faster than in drier climates, and coastal homes near the beach track in fine sand that grinds down fibers between cleanings. Homes with pets, kids or allergy sufferers benefit from the twice-a-year schedule. Vacuuming weekly between professional cleanings protects the carpet the most.
Do you serve carpet cleaning in Boynton Beach and Delray Beach too?
We do. Sunshine State Cleaning is based in Lake Worth and cleans carpet throughout Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach. Our crews are IICRC Certified and use the same truck-mounted steam system on every job. Call (561) 587-5468 or request an instant quote to book a time that works for you.
When can I walk on the carpeting?
The carpet will dry in about one day. In the meantime, you can walk on the carpet in your bare feet, in clean white socks or using the booties we provide. During this time, it’s important to keep any source of dirt off your damp carpet as possible, including your pets.
Can I speed up the drying time?
Yes, ceiling and other fans will circulate the air and speed the drying process. If the weather permits, you can also open the windows a few inches to let a natural breeze flow through your home. While it’s tempting to crank up the heat to dry things out faster, we don’t recommend this, unless you open some windows slightly. Heat without enough ventilation creates more of a green-house effect, extending the drying time.
When can I move the drying blocks or protective pads?
When we move furniture to clean underneath we put those items back in their original place, but we’ll put them up on blocks or protective pads. These blocks/pads should stay in place for three to four days. They are preventing interface between, say, a steel tack on the bottom of a furniture leg that may rust when it comes in contact with damp carpeting. Floor mats under desk chairs should also stay off the floor for three or four days.
My carpet looks “funny”, what should I do?
It’s completely normal for carpet to have a different look after it dries. Simply run a vacuum cleaner over the completely dried carpet to restore its original look and texture.
